Lamels Pty Ltd was founded by Melissa and Larry Pappin in 2004, after they purchased Governor's Choice Winery. The company has a diverse portfolio including Lamels Limousins brand.
Cattle
At Lamels Limousins, we specialise in producing homozygous black and homozygous polled Limousin cattle. We focus on breeding, sourcing and measuring high performance genetics that improve profitability and efficiency in commercial beef production.
Hay
Hay
At Lamels we specialise in producing prime Lucerne and Rhodes Grass hay. the high-protein Lucerne hay is particularly beneficial for feeding our Limousin cattle. The majority of hay produced is sold to the thoroughbred horse market.

Philosophy
At Lamels Limousins, we focus on breeding cattle that are super quiet and structurally sound. We have sourced genetics locally and abroad to enhance the traits of the Limousin breed. We utilise technologies such as embryo transplanting, IVF, artificial insemination, genomic analysis and objective measurements (EBVs) to achieve genetic gain in each generation of Lamels cattle. Low birth weights, optimum yields, efficient weight gain, the ability to lay down fat cover off-grass or in the feedlot and survivability are our priority.
Cattle
Our Limousin cattle are all polled and black and have great visual amenity. All Lamels Limousins are docile and are bred to be commercially profitable. They have great constitutions and perform throughout fluctuating nutritional and climatic environments.
Hay
Lucerne, Oats and Rhodes Grass hay are grown on our Athol property. Our Limousin cattle enjoy the odd bale of lucerne.
